A Cracking Good Conference!

From 26-26 July 2011, NH The Lord Charles hosted the 20th South African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) – offering our  Conference & Banqueting team the perfect opportunity to strut their stuff and show off our revamped conference facilities.

Judging from the post-conference feedback from delegates – who were unanimous in their praise for the diverse and informative programme and first-rate social events – it was the best conference yet, and those members who couldn’t attend missed out a great experience.

NH The Lord Charles Charity Ball cheque hand-over

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and guests, this year’s Charity Ball was once again a resounding success, raising a grand total of R106,000.00 for local charity organisations Imibala and ECHO.

Despite the blustery weather of the Cape winter day, it was smiles all round during the hand-over of the cheque to representatives of Imibala and ECHO earlier this month.

Executive Club get-together with Longridge Wines

Earlier this month, NH The Lord Charles Executive Club members enjoyed one of our popular, members only, informal social gatherings, where they had the opportunity to learn more about effective wine pairing while sipping away at the prize-winning wines of Longridge Wine Estate.

Established in 1994, the modern Longridge Wine Estate cellar on the slopes of the Helderberg has produced a number of award-winning wines.

Kachumbari Salad

This month’s recipe is sure to make a refreshing addition to your spring and summer menu. It comes from Bernard Steyn, Executive Chef of
NH The Lord Charles.

Says Bernard: “I fell in love with Kachumbari while working in Dar es Salaam and Mombassa.The lime dressing makes Kachumbari a very refreshing salad, and East Africans enjoy it with almost every meal.””

NH Hoteles official sponsor of the Handball European Championship

NH Hoteles has entered into a partnership with the NHV (the Dutch Handball Association) to become the official partner of the 2011/2012 Handball European Championship.

The under-19 women will be competing for the title in 2011, while the women’s senior teams will be competing in 2012. NHV will attempt to host as many of the players, coaches and officials in NH hotels in and around the cities hosting the matches for both tournaments. Both parties are delighted with their partnership, which offers them the opportunity to complement and enhance each other's strengths.
