Hi All,
Welcome to the beginning of the end of the year.
I’m sure that, just like me, you’re looking forward to that time when you can truly sit back and relax – or jump up and do something fun that you haven’t had time for as the months rolled on; that time when you can indulge yourself and your loved ones, because you (and they) have earned it ... That time when you can let your hair down with friends and be silly, ‘cause hey, it’s the silly season!
Well, we’re not quite there yet, but why not start warming up for all that silliness right now? Check out our festive line-up for this year, and until that time when we all party like it’s 1999 – why not come to a place where you’re always welcome and always assured of a good time.

Taste the World @ The Garden Terrace
In anticipation of the summer season, NH The Lord Charles’s favourite eatery is open for dinner every night.
With its graceful, uncluttered interior, inviting ambiance and sumptuous buffets, the Garden Terrace is a firm favourite with local and foreign guests alike. The menu changes daily to offer only the freshest ingredients and includes local and international fare.
The Dinner Buffet will continue this tradition of fine food and a great atmosphere. The menu will rotate weekly.

Time to say goodbye ...
Manduleni April has been with NH The Lord Charles since it first opened its doors in November 1988. In a way, his retirement is like the end of an era.
We asked Manduleni to share his thoughts at the close of this chapter in his life:
“What a journey that comes to an end! I started working at The Lord Charles on
5 November 1988. From day one I enjoyed my work, and always gave my best. It was a great pleasure to work with all the different General Managers and staff over the years.
I met many different people and guests over the years, and some have become my friends. I also had the honour to meet some heads of state, including the great
President Nelson Mandela. It was also a great privilege for me to meet the Springbok and the All Black rugby teams.
I wish all the staff a good future at the hotel and
I thank you.” |

Beignets
The Executive Chef of NH The Lord Charles, Bernard Steyn, once again shares one of his favourite recipes with us this month – an easy sweet treat that’s sure to delight everyone. Says Bernard: “Beignets are basically a kind of doughnut, and although they've been around in France since the 1500’s, they've become kind of a New Orleans speciality – when people there say they’re ‘goin’ fo’ coffee an’ doughnuts’, they really mean coffee and beignets.”
